Bento boxes are the Japanese version of a packed lunch. It is traditionally served in a hand-crafted box that is divided into several sections and is a convenient, well-balanced nutritious meal. Vegetarian Sushi
Sushi is often associated with raw fish, but is actually rice seasoned with vinegar and sugar served with various toppings or fillings. The Okra House Sushi is seasoned with citrus juice and the fillings will be made from available fresh vegetables, seaweed and egg.
Tempura
Tempura is a classic Japanese dish made from battered pieces of food. A light batter is made of ice cold water, flour, and eggs (or egg yolks). The Okra house tempura consists of seasonal vegetables fried for 2 -3 minutes in vegetable oil.
Miso soup Miso soup (pronounced miso shiru in Japanese) is a traditional Japanese soup. The stock is called "dashi" and contains seasonal vegetables and Konbu (seaweed). The distinctive flavour of Miso soup is created by adding softened miso paste to the dashi and bringing to the boil just before serving.
Every Bento box contains fresh, seasonal sautéed vegetables and salad, along with a portion of rice to complement the dishes.
